Houston Maternity Photographer {Ice Cream Dream}

I learned 2 things on the day of this fabulous Maternity shoot. First thing, I am not a city girl, but when my GPS craps out on me in the middle of downtown I can find my way! I may have had a slight anxiety attack and may have yelled some obscenities but I got there and on time no less. Second, I learned I was a complete and utter wuss during my pregnancies... either that or “momma R” is super woman!! I am going to go with a little bit of both!

It was a gorgeous day the day of our shoot and “momma R” trekked all over the place with me and didn’t complain once! I even had to ask her to sit still or “are you sure you don’t want some water” But Super pregnant woman doesn’t need no stinking water! ;)

Not only were we running around downtown, we also went back to our side of town and invaded the most colorful decorated Ice cream shop around. Thanks to Kim at Kim’s creamery for letting us take advantage of all the cuteness!! Check out their stuff Here.

So here is a taste of all the yummyness, and round belly that I was able to capture!

Thanks “Momma R” and thanks to your Momma for helping out!! Can’t wait to capture your bundle of joy!!

Cypress Tx Photographer {Beauty in so many meanings}

As I write this post, the poem by Elizabeth Barrett Browning comes to mind.

"How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.

I love thee to the level of every day's

Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.

I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;

I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.

I love with a passion put to use

In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

With my lost saints, I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life! and, if God choose,

I shall but love thee better after death. "

Most often than not you hear this poem in reference to the love between a Man and a Woman. But I think it also illustrates the love towards a child.

My niece is a Smart, funny, loving, caring, compassionate, beautiful and bright young lady. She makes me laugh and cry all in the same. I just love her to pieces. Also she is a perfect model!!

She is currently residing in my guest bedroom while her parents orchestrate their move from Newfoundland Canada back to Texas.

So I have my own little in house model to play with!

After a shoot last weekend, where she was an excellent assistant, we decided to take advantage of the surroundings and go have some fun. And this is what we came up with!!

Houston Family Photographer{...silly faces}

I just love personalities of little boys. I, having my own little boy, have come to love the goofy, stinky, boyish things that make them unique.
For my first session of the New Year, I had the pleasure of photographing the B family. They are Fun with a capital F! "J" was hilarious and had me laughing most of the session. His joke telling skills were quite unique as well ;) And the most important part of the morning.. when "J" hugged me and told me he liked me! I like you too "J". I cant wait to see you again soon!
I learned lots of great tips from Mr. B. And Mrs. B is just beaming with light.
It was such a pleasure to get to know you and roll around in the grass with you! I look forward to capturing your family in the future ;)
Enjoy your sneak peek!

Who knew all it took was a sneeze to get a laugh out of the kid. ;)

{Cypress area Family Photographer} Whats been keeping me busy!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!! The holidays are over and things are trying to get into full swing at Freckles Fotography.
I have had lots and lots of emails regarding Maternity and Newborn sessions. There must be something in the water because there is a small village of babies due to pop out in March and April.
If you are interested in booking a Maternity/Newborn Session, or just a Newborn Session with me please email atleast 3-4 weeks before you would like your session to take place.
Moving on to what I have been up to. My Sister in law and family will soon be moving BACK to Houston from St. Johns, Newfoundland and I can hardly contain myself.
She has been feverishly looking for houses before she heads back up to NL to start the move. So that means I have been watching kiddos. Over the weekend she attended a retreat for Cypress Calling Ministries, a ministry near and dear to our hearts.  From Friday to Sunday we had a house full of cousins.
My neice and nephew who are 2 and my 3 year old, Kat, and 5 year old, Jakob.
We had a grand time taking 2 cars to church(our little car doesnt fit 4 carseats) and pretending we had 4 little ones.
Here are some random shots I got of the babes and then of the motley crew. Enjoy!
And dont forget to book your spring sessions ... it is just around the corner!!

Take a look at those lashes will ya!
