Closed for a special birthday!

The Christmas lights are up(it may have taken 2 weeks) The tree is up and trimmed. A very special angel looks out at us from the top. My Scentsy warmer spreads the yummy cinnamon smell through out the house and gives the effect that there are candies being made with love.. (though there are not)

My favorite Christmas piece is my Nativity. Its not a particularly fancy Nativity. It was purchased from Walmart 10 years ago and we may have paid $14 dollars for it. To me it is priceless.. I love watching my kids act out the Nativity and rearrange the figurines. I also love the new visitors that Jesus has had, such as the mom from Kats doll house, or the Avatar happy meal toy from Jakob.
We have family flying in from Canada as I type this and I can hardly wait to squeeze them and kiss my nieces and nephews little faces.

That being said.. Freckles Fotography will be closed to celebrate Jesus's birthday from December 21st through January 6, 2010!!

I would normally ask the question "How do all these beautiful people find me? " Normally I am blown away by all the beauty I am able to capture. This session was a new venture for me.. but not really. You see I have been photographing or assisting in photographing this lady for many, many years. She has graced many a Calendar and well you can see why. It was effortless working with her.. She is a friend whom I call one of the family. She actually used to live with us, BK(before kids). We had so much fun together in the good ole days and its always fun getting together with her and catching up on old times. Miss Rach, I hope you love your images.. I love ya !

Has anyone seen the sun? Well, down here in Houston there has been a blanket of fog and mist for the past 2 weeks. I felt as if I were living in Forks, Washington(please excuse the "twilight" reference, I am quite sadly addicted)  I couldnt bare to cancel this session, so we just went with it. And let me tell you.. we didnt need no stinkin sunshine. These kids beamed like the big yellow ball in the sky. The only downside was the obvious lack of background, since the ground was saturated, but regarless this family was wonderful!!

Word of mouth is a major part of my business. It has been the main part of my advertising and it’s free! One of my favorite people, who has graced my blog several times in the past few months with her beautiful family, is my own personal walking, talking business card. She tells anyone and everyone about Freckles.. and I appreciate it more than you know! So one day she facebooks(cant believe this is the most popular form of communication)a friend of hers and tells her how beautiful her family is and that she should get in touch with her photographer(that’s me) and have some pictures taken.. and her friend said YES! So she emails me and the next day her SISTER calls me up and schedules a session (see previous post) So like I said... word of mouth is a Major if not the most important part of my business. I offer a $25 referral credit to be used towards prints or digital packages for every person who is referred and books a session with Freckles. So if you figure you tell 4 people and those 4 people book sessions... That’s $100 dollars to be used towards prints or a Digital CD. That’s major. So start telling your friends and family!! But in the meantime enjoy this gorgeous family whose 14 month was pure energy. I loved chasing her around the location and watching mom and dad interact with her... I just love this age!!
