Its a hot one..

The kids are out of school. The blow up pools are set out and ice pops are the snack of choice.
There are so many great things about summer that I adore.
These are the special moments that children will remember forever. Why not capture these moments to share with everyone(you dont want to be stingy with the memories)
Call me and schedule a portraiture shoot and I will come to your place of choice. When we first meet I like to talk to you and get to know you a little. This helps me to capture exactly who you are. I then shoot away. I can shoot over 1000 pictures in just under 2 hours. I like to make sure I have plenty of shots to choose from. After your session I will go through the pictures and discard all that are not up to my standards. Then the ones that are left over I will edit as necessary. I then will contact you and schedule another appointment for viewing the approved images and ordering prints. Depending on the order you could be enjoying your prints in less then a week from the date of the order!
You might be asking "But Tasha it is 100 degrees outside". Yes yes it is at 3pm. But thats ok, because the best light for an outdoor shoot is around 6pm-7:30 in the summer. By this time the temp has dropped at least 20 degrees ;) and we are always in the shade. Still not convinced, I can also capture the essence of you in the comfort of your own home. Provided there is enough natural light shining through the windows... I may have to move some furniture around to acquire the perfect light, but I promise I ll help put it back to its rightful place. So give me a call 832-452-6969 or email me at Frecklesfotography@gmail.com to schedule your appointment!
Here is a little sample of our own Ice pop summer.

Environment Portraiture vs. Studio Portraiture

All Photographers have their favorite types of photography. Some like to have complete control over the elements, lighting and situation. This is why they like to use a studio to capture their images.
Others, like myself, want subjects to be in their comfort zone. If that is laying in bed then so be it. Or if it is at a park and the kiddos are running around like crazy, that's fine to. That's them in their natural environment. I personally think that its easier to capture a subjects personality when they are comfortable in their surroundings.
This is why I consider myself an "on location" "natural light" Photographer. I like the unpredictableness of the weather and the moment, its real and raw and I think that is art.
So next time you think about getting your portraits taken please think about what kind of photo you would like and what kind of emotion you want your photograph to evoke.
Here is a quick shot that i took at a park on a bridge. This is why I love on location. You never know what kind of photo you will get and it allows the Photographer complete artistic control.
